Sure you can just walk in to many wineries and taste a flight of
their recent releases. But can you go on a cave tour? can you see
the operation? can you
taste from the barrel? can you pair the wines with artisan cheeses,
chocolates or chef-prepared delights? Maybe, maybe not. When
planning your day do at least one appointment tasting and then wrap your
day around it with walk in tastings. We always recommend doing at least
one sparkling winery as well (like Domaine Chandon, Domaine Carneros,
Schramsberg or Mumm Napa Valley).
Napa Valley offers some uniquely Napa Valley activities like
hot air ballooning, the Napa Valley Wine Train, wine tasting by bike,
wine tasting carefree by shuttle, a relaxing cruise along the Napa
River, a round of golf, perhaps a mud bath followed by a full day's soak
in the hot springs in Calistoga, better still a massage...aaahh!
These are the tours that don't focus on wine so much as Napa Valley. The Napa Valley Wine Train is a wonderfully romantic thing to do for Dinner in Napa Valley.
Napa River Adventures' two-hour guided cruise through downtown Napa and
surrounding wetlands is a great up way to relax and unwind after a hard
day of wine tasting. Hot air balloon rides are amazing and an
experience you will never forget, however it is a 6:00 AM start time so
be prepared. Napa Winery Shuttle offers the smartest most
efficient way to go wine tasting in Napa Valley carefree for just the
two of you or a group of friends who all want to have a great time!
